Every Moroccan rug is carefully and lovingly handpicked by Tate and Darby. Each rug beautifully woven in women’s cooperatives high up in the Atlas Mountains has a story to tell and no two rugs are ever the same. These rugs, often abstract, are like works of art, and like true works of art their style supersedes trends and work well in both traditional and contemporary settings. The traditional design of the Beni Ourain, we have often re-worked using contemporary bright colours and can be made bespoke - a process which takes approximately eight weeks.
Our collection of natural soft jute rugs designed exclusively by Tate and Darby are hand braided in India, in the same way that hair has been plaited for centuries. These rustic rugs add texture, and with their natural finish also work well with most interiors. Like the Moroccan rugs, we do offer a bespoke service on these. We can help clients choose colours/patterns from any of the jute range and create their own design.
And finally our first reversible flatweave design - the Lightning Bolt - made of 100% New Zealand wool in India woven on a traditional loom. We hope you like it!
