The Edit
Zella is an original Tate & Darby design, inspired by the geometric patterns of Moroccan tiles. Its simple rhythmic motif and tones bring warmth and character to a room without overwhelming it. Part of our Atlas Collection, Zella is designed in our Wiltshire studio and handwoven in India from 100% New Zealand Wool.

This beautiful handwoven Moroccan palm mat is crafted from natural palm straw and wool using traditional techniques passed down through generations of artisans in a small region of Morocco. Sadly though, this remarkable craft is becoming increasingly rare, making each piece a celebration of a rich cultural heritage.
I have loved these types of rugs for so long and am so delighted to have sourced this one, along with a small collection of others. Each one has its own character and charm, and would look fabulous on the floor or on a wall. The decorative palm fronds can be trimmed if preferred, allowing you to choose between the original palm finish or a cleaner more minimal look.
